After visiting a play about the life of VASLAV NIJINSKY, I got inspired to write this blog entry. Vaslav had triumphs as a dancer & choreographer, renewing male roles in ballet. After 10 years, he collapsed and received the diagnosis of schizophrenia. In his diary you can read how he chose to turn away from the world outside, into his own inner world. So the first part of the song is about that, the second part is about people who are lucky to eventually find a way to keep connecting their true selves to the outside world.

Beautiful song but heartbreaking when thinking of Vaslav’s destiny! How sad that he never reached the stage in the second part of the song!

Since I watched the play Nijinsky produced by Lindsay Kemp Company 1983 I‘m a true fan of him and saw many of his dances, le spectre de la Rose 2017 in Stuttgart, Belgium Royal ballet
Nice to find people who are also amazed
O, yes, I feel the same! In The Netherlands, author Arthur Japin wrote a book called VASLAV and it was also turned into a play. Very emotional, and indeed, ever so nice to find people that are touched by him too! I visited his grave in Paris. They placed a beautiful statue on his tomb.
