EMBRACING FALLING APART

EMBRACING FALLING APART
fable inspired by the personality development theory: Positive Disintegration

The vole wanted. This wanting had been awakened in him when the owl one day had asked the animals at the large glade: “What do you want?”
At that moment, the vole had discovered that he was entitled to want something, although he did not yet know what and how, whereto or wherefore. Only that when he saw the ladybug move to music, he was deeply touched and something stirred within him.*
Inspiration, observed the owl and the giraffe had been thinking the same. That was a word the vole did not comprehend, he just felt Continue reading

STRANGE BIRD

SECOND NEW FABLE after the release of my bilingual book with 30 psychological fables. More info about my book in which you can get to know all the animals.

STRANGE BIRD
(shell mosaics in the streets of the French coastal town Les Sables-d’Olonne)

It was a warm summer’s day in the animal forest. The sun stood high in the sky, shining radiantly. Everything became golden and warm. The strange bird loved that.* On days like this, he liked to go out. He gathered twigs and leaves and berries and acorns, sometimes a glossy chestnut, and also little flowers and shells. With them, he made images. He moved everything around until the image reflected how he was feeling. And when the sun was shining so ablaze, he felt light and bright at heart. He could use that, because if the sun was not around, it would be a completely different picture, languid and heavy and dark.
“Hello”, said the sheep, for xhe was always willing to greet anyone, including strange birds.
“Hello”, said the strange bird, who sometimes did not return the greeting, during those moments when Continue reading

VREEMDE VOGEL

WHAT A TOUR!

Nederlands: WAT EEN TOER!

FIRST NEW FABLE after the release of my bilingual book with 30 psychological fables. More info about my book in which you can get to know all the animals.

WHAT A TOUR!

“And we’re off!” shouted the hare, that day at the start of the summer. Like every year, he had plotted a three week racing tour through the animal forest with daily stages for the animals to compete against each other.
“I hope for many long straight sections with crosswinds slightly from behind”, said the elephant, because he knew that in that case there would be fewer animals who could take shelter behind him.
“But no,” said the mountain goat, “I just want to go uphill, as far and as high as possible!”
“And I want,” said the vole, who was increasingly discovering what he really wanted, “bumpy, winding paths, because that’s what I can handle best.”
“There is something for everyone,” said the hare and sped off, the other animals after him.

The flying animals reported to the animals that did not participate but still were curious to know who was in the lead. Sometimes they flew too Continue reading

WAT EEN TOER!

English: WHAT A TOUR!

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Every now and then, the owl liked to ask the animals some questions. He hoped that each time, there would be a few of them that would continue thinking about it. And eventually, he hoped that it would make them feel better. More at ease with themselves and therefore with others.
“What do you want?”, wondered the owl aloud.
There happened to be quite a few animals at the large glade around the magnolia, so he thought it to be a suitable moment. Some of the animals indeed looked up at him, interested.
“You might just do something,” continued the owl therefore, “but you can also want something.”
“Want”, whispered the vole softly after him, trying to get used to the idea that there could be something to want.
“Yes, I want!”, he then called out loud, because wanting something had begun to appeal to him.
“And what is it, that you want?”, asked the owl, who liked to be precise in his wording and liked others to be that too.
“Umm”, said the vole Continue reading

An * after a word means you can find an explanation under the fable
In the depths of the ocean, the stingray was swimming. He hoped to find something to eat, but nothing was swimming by.
“What’s up these days”, he muttered. “In the old days, there was more.”
He swam a little further away from home but was not very lucky. A little bite here and there but no abundant school.
Could the sea be tired, he thought. He had heard the current sing sometimes, that the sea is so tired, and therefore Continue reading
