she had seen him
and he had watched too
they had circled each other
and had stepped back again
but then
they dared to dance
and when
they swirled
they were attracted
by the mystery
and stayed together

but why then
does she not really see him
why then
does he not reach her through and through
stagnation
of growth in relation

because
veiled
masked
even after the ball

maybe subconsciously
but because of that
no unveiling started
and no removing
of the mask for untouchability
to come to revealing vulnerability
and naked nearing to proximity

he kept courting her
she kept dancing with him
both in total surrender
but actually not to each other
