“Dag garnaal”, zei de kikker.
“Sst,” zei de garnaal, “ik eet.”
“O,” zei de kikker, “stoor ik je?”
“Ja,” zei de garnaal, “ik drink.”
“Lekker-lang-liggende?”, vroeg de kikker.
“Nee,” zei de garnaal, “gewoon water.”
“Bah,” zei de kikker, “niks an.”
“Maar”, zei de garnaal, “wel nodig.”
“Nodig”, zei de kikker. “Wat is nou nodig?” en hij sprong weg.
Er viel niets te beleven met de garnaal.
“Weet je,” zei de garnaal, “kom over een dag of vijf eens terug.”
Maar de kikker reageerde niet meer.

“Hi shrimp”, said the frog.
“Shush,” said the shrimp, “I’m eating.”
“Oh,” said the frog, “am I disturbing you?”
“Yes,” said the shrimp, “I’m drinking.”
“Velvety vintage?”, asked the frog.
“No,” said the shrimp, “just water.”
“Yuck,” said the frog, “tasteless.”
“But”, said the shrimp, “for sure necessary.”
